The College Roller Foundation exists to raise and distribute scholarships, but it isn't designed to host events. The College Roller Foundation isn't a tournament series, league, championship, governing body, or sanctioning agency. The College Roller Foundation will need to partner with organizations willing to host competitions, known as Host Partners. Please reach out if you are interested in becoming a Host Partner.
Host Partners are able to partner with the College Roller Foundation to give out larger prizes than they would be able to on their own. Host Partners must donate in order to become a Host Partner, these donations are collected in what is known as the Host Pool. The College Roller Foundation will also raise funds through other means, which will be collected in the General Pool. Host Partners will be able to draw an equivalent percentage from the General Pool that they donate to the Host Pool. Meaning that if a Host Partner donates $50,000 to a Host Pool that totals $100,000 (50% of the total), then that Host Partner would be able to draw 50% of the funds from the General Pool. Therefore, if the General Pool were $1,000,000 then that Host Partner would be able to draw $500,000 from the General Pool, due to their donation of $50,000. The funds will never go from College Roller Foundation to the Host Partners. Instead, the funds will go from the Host Partner to the College Roller Foundation, and then are given to the players that are awarded scholarships by their programs.
There has never been a system like this before in roller hockey. It is the first financial infrastructure that serves to mutually benefit it's participants while directing significant resources back into the sport. Host Partners will also receive the significant benefit as being viewed as instrumental forces in building the future of roller hockey by the general roller hockey public.
Host Partners will have large degrees of freedom in how their events operate. The College Roller Foundation will not force a Host Partner to execute a particular rule book or how to award the scholarships. Host Partners will be able to choose how scholarships are awarded at their events, as long as it is based in fair competition. Meaning that if a Host Partner wants to only award scholarships to a team that wins a tournament they can. If they want to run a year long competition with multiple events and levels of scholarships , they can.
